JAMAICAN CREATIVE FORCES UNITE: GOODY BAR PARTNERS WITH TRIBE NINE STUDIOS
Fashion, Music, and Culture Converge at Exclusive Kingston Celebration
KINGSTON, JAMAICA — The intersection of fashion, music, and Jamaican creative capital took center stage last weekend as Goody Bar partnered with Tribe Nine Studios for an exclusive celebration in Barbican. The event not only showcased Jamaica's thriving creative scene but also served as the official announcement of Tribe Nine Studios' new downtown Kingston boutique location.
A MEETING OF CREATIVE MINDS
Creative entrepreneur Marleisse Stephens, founder of the experiential series Goody Bar, curated an intimate gathering that quickly became a who's who of Kingston's fashion and creative influencers. Notable attendees included Kadeem Rogers, Tamo Ennis, American fashion stylist Mecca James Williams, Moya Annece, Bonito Thompson, and Danielle Morr—representing a cross-section of Jamaica's vibrant creative economy.
The partnership between Goody Bar and Tribe Nine Studios represents a significant moment for Jamaican-owned fashion and lifestyle brands seeking to elevate local design on the global stage.
DIASPORIC SOUNDSCAPE
The event's soundtrack embodied the global influence of Caribbean music while celebrating its evolution across the diaspora. Powered by Red Bull Jamaica, the musical journey traversed Dancehall, Afrobeat, Amapiano, R&B, and Hip Hop—creating a sonic narrative that united various Black music traditions.
Goody Bar's resident selector DJ Reiizzzrr was joined by international talent DJ Maiya Norton, alongside DJ Stamma, with live percussion provided by Robert "Malx" Malcolm. This musical collaboration created an atmosphere that American DJ Maiya Norton described as a "true convergence of cultures across the diaspora."
"The energy of Kingston is unmatched," Norton reflected after the event. "The crowd at Goody Bar was vibrant, beautiful, and engaged all night. Being able to bring the musical flavors of the States and see the crowd light up, transition into Afrobeats and Amapiano, and blend it with Dancehall classics was a true convergence of cultures."
DOWNTOWN RENAISSANCE
The celebration served as the official announcement for Tribe Nine Studios' new boutique opening at 107 Harbour Street in Downtown Kingston's F&B building. Troy Oraine Williamson, owner and founder of Tribe Nine Studios since 2018, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership.
"Goody Bar is a breath of fresh air to Jamaica and that's what we try to offer at Tribe Nine Studios," Williamson noted. "This partnership is a no-brainer."
The F&B building, situated in Kingston's Downtown Art District, provides an ideal location for the Jamaican-owned and operated design brand. The space is known for blending art, retail, and dining experiences—perfectly aligned with Tribe Nine Studios' vision and Goody Bar's experiential approach.
CELEBRATING JAMAICAN FEMININE ENERGY
Consistent with Goody Bar's mission to amplify Caribbean feminine energy, the event continued Stephens' vision of reimagining Jamaican beauty, lifestyle, and glamour through carefully curated experiences. As a creative director and brand strategist, Stephens has positioned Goody Bar as a woman-driven hospitality concept that embodies Jamaica's unrivaled appeal and style.
"Goody Bar documents and reimagines Caribbean femininity for a global audience," explains the brand's vision. "We blend traditional narratives with contemporary expression to create something entirely new—bold, sensual, and unapologetically Caribbean."

Fashion enthusiasts and supporters of Jamaican creative industries can attend Tribe Nine Studios' official reopening on Thursday, July 27th at 107 Harbor Street (F&B Downtown) between 6-9 pm. The event requires RSVP, with further details available through Tribe Nine Studios' Instagram account.
